The role of the Governing Body is to set Queen’s Manor’s aims and objectives and agree, monitor and review policies, targets and procedures. It takes a strategic role, acting as a critical friend to the School and provides both challenge and support to school leaders to ensure that children are receiving the best opportunities and achieving the best outcomes.
The Governing Body meets once per term, prior to a full meeting of the Brightwells Trust Board. Governors have specific links within the school (a class and a subject) so that they are well informed and part of the school improvement cycle.
The Governing Body is currently comprised of three Co-opted Governors, two Parent Governors, one Staff Governor and the Headteacher.

We currently have the following committees that meet regularly, as well as others as required.
Finance, Premises and H&S Committee
This committee drafts the budget plan for the financial year, annually reviews benchmarking data, ensures the school operates within the Financial Regulations of the Local Authority, makes decisions on service agreements and on expenditure following recommendations from other committees. It aims to ensure that Health and Safety issues are appropriately prioritised and drafts the School Pay Policy.
Curriculum, Pupils, Parents and the Community Committee
This committee ensures the National Curriculum is taught to all pupils, sets targets for and monitors pupil attendance, reviews and adopts policies for Collective Worship and Sex Education, ensures requirements for children with special needs are met and overseas arrangements for individual governors to take a lead role in specific areas of provision e.g. literacy, numeracy, SEN.
Personnel, Performance and Pay Committee
This committee oversees the staffing structure of the school in line with the School Development Plan. It recruits the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher and reviews their salaries and those of other staff in line with performance reviews and the School Pay Policy.
