QM’s star Skittleball players experienced heartbreak after falling at the final hurdle in the borough championships.
The Year 4 team got off to a roaring start in their group with three emphatic victories in which they conceded only one skittle.
Even after narrowly losing their next two matches, QM qualified for the play-offs at Hammersmith Town Hall last week.
After two tense games – one drawn, one lost – they narrowly missed out on the semi-finals, but still finished 5th out of 16 overall.
The previous day, Year 3 competed in their age championships at the same venue. Despite not winning a medal, they gained valuable experience for their return next year.
Coach Lee Castle said: “I was so proud of the superb sporting attitudes and exemplary teamwork.”
