3BM Challenge Cup
TWO QM football teams got in the winning way at the 3BM Challenge Cup in April.
The Year 5 and 6 team won their group stage in the tri-borough tournament with four wins and one draw.
Despite the lack of Year 6 representation due to SATs revision, the boys also won their quarter-final, before going out in the semi-finals to St Saviours.
The Year 3 and 4 team, with five boys and two girls, also stormed through to the last eight, with three wins and a draw – including a nail-biting victory over local rivals John Betts – before bowing out against Brackenbury.
Coach Lee Castle was delighted with the performance of both teams, pictured above. “This bodes really well for the future of football at QM,” said Lee. “Both teams gained valuable experience and some great victories. I couldn’t have been prouder of the effort they put in.”
The five-a-side cup, organised by education services firm 3BM, was held at the superb new Play Football complex in Shepherd’s Bush.
